What Will You Do
Embark on an unforgettable day exploring the scenic Nam Song River and Vang Vieng’s famous caves.
After a short transfer from your hotel, our adventure begins with a kayaking briefing and safety
instructions. Then, we set off downstream, paddling through gentle rapids surrounded by stunning
limestone mountains.
Our first stop is Tham Xang (Elephant Cave) — a large, cathedral-like cavern steeped in local legend
and history.
After exploring the cave, we continue by kayak to a peaceful riverside picnic spot where a delicious
lunch awaits.
Re-energized, we paddle further to the Organic Farm, known for its mulberry tea and fruit wines.
Next, we visit Tham None Cave, one of the largest in Vang Vieng. Once used as a bomb shelter during
the Second Indochina War, it’s now home to colonies of bats and the famous “Magic Stone of Vang
Vieng.” Your guide will share its fascinating history and secrets.
Finally, enjoy a gentle downstream paddle back to Vang Vieng, arriving in time to catch the
sunset over the river.
What to Expect
- A full-day outdoor adventure with gentle kayaking, beautiful scenery, and cultural exploration.
- No prior kayaking experience required — just basic swimming ability (20m unassisted).
- During dry season (Oct–Apr), the river is lower and the route changes slightly; instead of Tham Xang, we visit Nam Them Cave.
